Carrie Underwood has a heart of gold. She recently shared how military veterans and families affect her songwriting. Learn about her source of inspiration here!

Country music superstar Carrie Underwood frequently meets with deserving military families during her partnership with Carnival Cruise Line and Operation Homefront. Sometimes she even gifts them with surprise tickets to her tour stops! In addition, Carnival has also launched its “Honor.Family.Fun” initiative, which supports Operation Homefront. It is a military appreciation program recognizing all active and retired members on its ship.

Looking forward to honoring @OperationHomefront and military families tomorrow onboard the @Carnival Vista! #captainchair #HelloVista

Back in January 2016, Underwood announced her year-long partnership with Carnival Cruise Line. The partnership includes a private, invitation-only show aboard the Carnival Vista where she performs for a crowd of military families. Ahead of her stint on April 4th, Underwood got candid about raising awareness for military families and discussed the importance of raising funds to help out this worthy group of individuals.

The singer told the press, “It’s been a wonderful partnership…Country music is all about real life, that’s why I love it so much.  I get to tell my story, but I also get to tell the stories of people that I meet along the way.”  America’s military families bring a personal touch to her music and the star cherishes her time with the two organizations.

Operation Homefront is dedicated to building strong, secure, and stable military families.  Underwood adds that her experiences with military kids and parents will definitely influence her music. She hopes to give back by raising awareness for military families.

Underwood is a veteran when it comes to performing on cruise ships, but has never taken a laid-back cruise of her own. The Oklahoman songbird hopes to go on a cruise with her husband and son in the future— she just has to wait for her hubby to finish his hockey playoff schedule. Though, she hopes the Nashville Predators keep winning.

#Smashville has completely gone crazy!!!! 3-0 baby!!! One more! @predsnhl
