Being a celebrity adds all sorts of complexity and pressure to a marriage— that’s part of the reason so many famous pairings don’t last. So how do Carrie Underwood, 33, and her NHL star husband Mike Fisher make it work while also tackling the stresses of first time parenthood? People chatted with the popular songbird at the 22nd Annual Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix, Arizona, over the weekend and asked her about her approach to marriage.
“Sometimes you have to make more of an effort to be with each other because it’s really easy to put all of your time and energy into your baby,” explained the entertainer. “It’s been — not challenging, but just something that we’ve really just trying to be mindful of and try to make time for each other. We’re planning a vacation right now — we need it!”
The Oklahoma native also took some well-deserved ‘me time’ and soaked up the sun while in the desert paradise. She shared the snapshot below with her fans via Facebook.

Of course, Underwood also took the opportunity to talk about her adorable 13-month-old son Isaiah. “He’s the best thing. I never really knew what it was like to love something or someone unconditionally until I had him. He’s so sweet and so smart. He’s a little sponge just growing and learning every day. He’s just the best thing,” she gushed.
Underwood and Fisher have been married just shy of six years. These two certainly know how to prioritize and we wish this little family the very best! Enjoy more Carrie Underwood updates by hitting the button below!
