Country music singer songwriter Cam offers up the 'other side' of a cheatin' story with "Diane." Check out the tune and complete lyrics here!

The Cam Diane Lyrics video was released in 2017.  Rising country music songstress Cam’s thought-provoking track “Diane” now has a gripping lyric video to accompany it! As you might already know, “Diane” is about a woman apologizing to the wife of her lover, who concealed the fact that he was married. This track can be considered the flip-side of country music legend Dolly Parton’s classic “Jolene.”

“Even if it’s the guy cheating, somehow (women) fight with each other all the time. Dolly didn’t scream or cry hysterically. She’s just talking so calmly at Jolene,” Cam explained about the inspiration behind the track. “There’s something disarming about how vulnerable she is.”

The 33-year-old also opened up about why she wrote the track from a unique perspective, “It has happened to people that I’ve cared about, friends whose parents have gone through rough divorces and another friend of mine who is going through a divorce right now. That was kind of on my mind. Trying to create the way I wish it had gone for them: that the other woman comes forward, says ‘I didn’t know he was married; I’m here to tell you the truth and apologize and be upfront.’ ”

Cam Diane Lyrics

Oh, I promise I didn’t know he was your man
I would have noticed a gold wedding band
Diane
I’d rather you hate me than not understand
Oh, Diane

You pick the time and the place
Dont know how much this hurts
I gave him my heart to break
Now I know he broke yours first
Lyin’ right there in my bed
While he was lying to you
Believing the words that he said
How could we be such fools?

And all those nights that he’s given to me
I wish that I could give them back to you

Diane
I promise I didn’t know he was your man
I would have noticed a gold wedding band
Diane
I’d rather you hate me than not understand
Oh, Diane

You can blame me if it helps
That’s what a good wife would do
But you’re only cheating yourself
Choosing him over the truth

And all those nights that he’s given to me
I wish that I could give them back to you

Diane
I promise I didn’t know he was your man
I would have noticed a gold wedding band
Diane
I’d rather you hate me than not understand
Oh, Diane

Oh, woah
Diane, Diane
Oh, woah
Diane
Oh, I’d rather you hate me then not understand
Oh, Diane

And all those nights that he’s given to me
I wish that I could give them back to you
