The Chris Janson Buy Me A Boat song was released in 2015 as the title track for his album. In 2015, Janson received a big break and played this song at a charity event for Bobby Bones.  Bones is a syndicated country radio host with a large morning show audience.  Bones played the “Buy Me a Boat.” song on his show and the song took off.  The rest is history.  This song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Country songs chart.

Chris describes this as a real simple song that was written when he and his co-worker couldn’t think of anything. Chris’s co-writer threw out the term “buy you a boat” and Chris immediately ran with it. Pretty soon the song came together with lyrics basically just all about who he was.
