Brendan McLoughlin, Miranda Lambert‘s new husband, comes from a place far outside of the entertainment industry and country music scene. The 27-year-old Staten Island native has been a member of the New York Police Department since 2013 and works within the metropolitan’s Midtown South Precinct. With that megawatt smile, it’s no wonder Brendan also made the cover photo of the Midtown South Precinct’s Twitter account. Hilariously enough, Miranda Lambert follows the account as well. In his late teens, he even tried his hand at modeling and created a profile on Model Mayhem, a popular website for models to network and potentially land jobs.
Besides being handsome, it appears that Brendan McLoughlin is also a big fan of canines, which is a big key to his country star wife’s heart!

According to PEOPLE, Miranda Lambert is not only a new bride— she is also a new stepmom! McLoughlin is the father of a 3-month-old baby boy from a previous relationship. As for when Miranda and Brendan secretly tied the knot, the pair exchanged vows on January 26th in Davidson Country, Tennessee but didn’t share their news until February 16th.
“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for…. me. ❤️ #theone,” Lambert shared along with a couple of wedding photos.
