After a two-year struggle with infertility, Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber are finally having a baby...and she is rocking her baby bump!
Country singer Brantley Gilbert and his wife, Amber, tried to have children for two years. After struggling with infertility, they finally received a miracle! Though either a son or a daughter would have been “One Hell of an Amen” for the couple, they are expecting a baby boy.
The couple shared with People that their pregnancy was a complete surprise because they had been to a fertility specialist and talked to two medical professionals who said conception “would be close to a miracle.” But it happened, and they couldn’t be more excited to become parents!
To reveal the sex of their first child, Gilbert and his wife held a gender reveal party with 40 guests. He used a rifle to shoot at a target which then released blue dust— how inventive!
“Everybody was crying,” the 32-year-old singer shared about the event. “I turned around and I think that’s when it hit me that everybody’s wanted this for us as much as we did for so long.”
He added, “Amber and I thought it was a little boy. I don’t know how or why, but we just did. I’d have been happy with any baby, boy or girl. But there’s something about the idea of a little guy . . . When the blue cloud went up, well, that made it even more real. Now we know it’s a little boy, and he’s gonna have to get ready for a whole lot of love.”
Gilbert celebrated the good news with some of his fans at the end of his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour. He brought his wife onstage, showing her (and her baby bump) off to the crowd.
“I can’t help talking about my life because that’s what all these records are written about, and when I mentioned the baby before ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,’ the response almost took the roof off the pavilion,” Gilbert recalled about the tour’s kick off show in Florida. “They cheered almost louder for that than for all the songs!”
He also shared some interesting gifts he has received for the baby. Someone gave them brass knuckles for the baby to teethe on. Another person gave them onesies with cute sayings: “Crawl, Walk, Ride” and “Don’t Mess With Me, My Dad’s Brantley Gilbert.”
As it turns out, 2017 has been a good year for Brantley Gilbert. He recently finished his sold out tour, he has a gorgeous wife and healthy baby boy on the way to come home to, and he will soon celebrate five years of sobriety in December. The singer continues to be grateful for all that is happening in his life and the support he and his wife are receiving.
