Country music standout Chris Young was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday, October 17th by fellow country music entertainer Brad Paisley.
“When I was first made a member of this crazy family, I had no idea the actual way this is a family,” Paisley shared while onstage with Young. “I quickly was accepted and asked to be a part of so many things. Chris is one of those people that will make the most of this . . . This is a great human being, and that’s what the Opry needs.”
Then Paisley added, “You are part of something that’s living and breathing. You will have a home on this stage for the rest of your life. You can come out and sing anything you want to sing. And, we will be so proud to have you here.”
“I don’t know exactly what I’m supposed to say, something not stupid, probably,” quipped an emotional Young as he received the honor. “The two best words I can think of [are] ‘thank you.’”

After Young left the stage, the arist stated that his Grand Ole Opry induction will probably leave him at a loss for words for the rest of his years.
“Now it’s not just that I went to Bill Anderson’s fan club party, which I did before I had my record deal. It’s not just that I went fishing with Little Jimmy Dickens,” Young expressed. “It’s not just those stories now. It’s that I’m also in that family, and it means the world to me.”
“I remember growing up near Nashville listening to and watching the Opry. Since I began my career in music, playing the Grand Ole Opry has always been a highlight. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would get to join this family. Dreams come true. I’m excited to call this place Home for the rest of my life,” Chris shared via social media.
The Tennessee native’s seventh album Losing Sleep is set to drop on Friday, October 20th. Earlier this week, Young also announced his Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour with Kane Brown and LANCO joining as special guests for the first leg of the tour.
“I’m excited about getting out on the road in the new year with Kane and the guys from LANCO,” shared Young in a statement. “It’s been really cool to write, record and tour with Kane over the last year. And then to have LANCO bring their unique energy out on the road too – I can guarantee it’s going to be a great time.”
Congrats to Chris on all the good things coming his way! Share this update with other country music fans.
