Country music star Blake Shelton‘s “Suspicious Minds” cover was a fitting tip of the hat to the late musical sensation, Elvis Presley. Besides taking the stage to perform, the Oklahoman was also the host of NBC’s Elvis All-Star Tribute Special which aired on Sunday, February 17th.

Elvis took “Suspicious Minds” all the way to No. 1 back in 1969. This was his last chart-topping track in the U.S. but was originally penned and recorded by Mark James.
In addition to Blake, several other modern country names took the stage to honor the great Elvis such as Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Dierks Bentley. Outside of the country world, Jennifer Lopez and Ed Sheeran also rocked it out during the tribute.
Included in the show was some rare behind the scene footage and exclusive interviews with Priscilla Presley and Steve Binder (the original special’s director), and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
“Suspicious Minds” Lyrics
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?
With suspicious minds (suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Asking where I’ve been
You can’t see the tears are real
I’m crying (Yes, I’m crying)
With suspicious minds (suspicious minds)
And we can’t build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Or dry the tears from your eyes
Let’s don’t let a good thing die
When, honey, you know
I’ve never lied to you
Mmm, yeah, yeah
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
What you’re doing to me
When you don’t believe a word I say?
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much baby
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
I can’t walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
