In connection with Blake Shelton‘s upcoming 2019 Friends & Heroes Tour, the star covered a trio of classic country songs and dubbed it his ‘Friends & Heroes Session.’ So far, the Oklahoman has released covers of Bobby Bare’s “Tequila Sheila,” George Jones’ “The King Is Gone (So Are You),” and Eddie Rabbitt’s “Every Which Way But Loose.”
In an interview with New Country 96.3 KSCS, he shared, “One of the coolest things I’ve been able to do in my career, because I’ve been fortunate, is be a little selfish along the way and be able to record some songs that I grew up loving. I feel like they have helped shape who I am as an artist and were what inspired me to want to be a country singer.”
