Country music artist Blake Shelton's Ole Red project will replace his ex-wife's shuttered Pink Pistol boutique. More details here.
Instead of attending the 2017 ACM Awards in Las Vegas with the majority of Nashville’s elite players, Blake Shelton was busy planning out the next phase for the small town of Tishomingo while kicking back in the comfort of his home state. The star is working with Ryman Hospitality Properties on opening up a brand new entertainment venue dubbed Ole Red as a tourist-attracting replacement for ex-wife Miranda Lambert’s former Pink Pistol boutique.
The country artist shared via the Facebook Live video below that he was inspired to open a Tishomingo location as well as a Nashville location after the Pink Pistol boutique closed down following the couple’s July 2015 divorce.
“When the Pink Pistol went away…it left a hole here,” Shelton said of the closure’s impact on the community. “We all saw what that business did for this community.”
“It’s amazing to me to see a song that’s been such a big part of my career come to life in the plans for Ole Red,” stated Blake Shelton in an earlier press release. “Nashville and Tishomingo are both places that are important to me, and it’s great that each location is going to have its own personality inspired by one of my favorite songs. It’s always been a dream of mine to create something like this where people know they’re going to have a good time as soon as they walk in the door, and I couldn’t be more excited that my friends at the Opry and Ryman Hospitality Properties are making it happen.”
During the insightful Facebook Live session, Blake also discussed the interesting story behind his hit song “Ol’ Red” and his humble beginnings in Nashville. Ole Red’s Tishomingo location is expected to open its doors in late 2017 with the multi-level 26,000-square-foot Ole Red Nashville venue opening sometime in 2018.
Both locations are sure to be a draw for those wishing for an immersive country music experience. Hopefully Ole Red brings the traffic back to Tishomingo!
