Couple of nearly one year, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani took their love affair to the nation’s capitol on Tuesday night. The pair sang their duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” during President Obama’s final White House State Dinner.

Stefani also sang a selection of her past hits as the main musical entertainment for the night. According to CNN, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife, Agnese Landini, were the guests of honor. Other celebrities in the crowd of 500 were fashion icon Giorgio Armani, James Taylor, Frank Ocean, and Rachel Ray. The guests dined on a menu that featured pasta created by celebrity chef Mario Batali.
Prior to the night’s star-studded festivities, Gwen and her three sons- Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2— spent time with the Obama family and took a private tour of the White House. Yes, the kids did get to play with the two first dogs, Bo and Sunny.
Gwen will be returning as coach on NBC’s The Voice for season 12, reuniting with Shelton on the popular show next spring. Though they have worked together on the program before, this will mark the first time they will compete against each other.
