Move over, Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like a Back Road.” It’s official— Bebe Rexha and country duo Florida Georgia Line now have the longest-running streak on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with their Diamond-certified hit song “Meant to Be.” The artists’ tune premiered at the top of the chart on December 16, 2017 and have reigned an unprecedented 35 weeks straight! When the song spent an eleventh week in the top spot in February 2018, it surpassed Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” as the longest-running number one song on the chart for a lead female artist  In August 2018, the song broke the record previously held by 2017’s “Body Like a Back Road” by Sam Hunt for the most weeks at number one on the US Hot Country Songs chart.  After spending 50 weeks at the top, it was dethroned by Kane Brown’s “Lose It”. The song sold 1,413,000 copies in the United States as of March 2019.[  n 2020, it was certified diamond for selling over 10 million units in the US.

Pop artist Bebe Rexha was born August 30, 1989 and this collaboration with Florida Georgia Line gives her a major crossover hit on the Country Charts.

“I’m so honored to be a writer and an artist on this song,” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard shared with Billboard. “I’m thankful to just be one of the many people who put so much energy and effort into making music history. Now, it’s time to get back in the studio and try to break the new record.” FGL’s Brian Kelley added, “The power of music continues to blow our minds, and we are extremely humbled and thankful that ‘Meant’ has spent the better part of a year at the top. The connection we feel with our fans through our music is extra special with this song. Bebe and her camp were a blast to work with.”

“I’m grateful to be able to create music that allows me to push limits and push myself. I’m grateful for all the love and warmth from the country community [and give] credit to country greats who influenced me: Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and so many more. Here’s to writing with your heart and breaking boundaries,” expressed Bebe Rexha.

“Meant to Be” Lyrics

Baby, lay on back and relax, kick your pretty feet up on my dash
No need to go nowhere fast, let’s enjoy right here where we at
Who knows where this road is supposed to lead
We got nothing but time
As long as you’re right here next to me, everything’s gonna be alright
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
I don’t mean to be so uptight, but my heart’s been hurt a couple times
By a couple guys that didn’t treat me right
I ain’t gon’ lie, ain’t gonna lie
‘Cause I’m tired of the fake love, show me what you’re made of
Boy, make me believe
But hold up, girl, don’t you know you’re beautiful?
And it’s easy to see
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
So, c’mon ride with me, ride with me
See where this thing goes
So, c’mon ride with me, ride with me
Baby, if it’s meant to be
Maybe we do
Maybe we don’t
Maybe we will
Maybe we won’t
But if it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be (c’mon)
Baby, just let it be (let’s go)
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
