Country music star Ashley McBryde Girl Goin' Nowhere has a backstory and it's an inspiring one! More on the new single here!
Ashley McBryde Girl Goin’ Nowhere was released in 2018 as a track to her album by the same name. Her hit song “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” reached country radio earlier this year and is a story very close to Ashley’s heart (based on when one of her high school teachers told her that her dreams of making it big in Nashville and in country music were never going to happen). Now, the singer-songwriter has a message for anyone who has ever doubted her potential!

This is the inspiring track country fans need for the start of a new year. Hearing that someone thought her dreams were impossible fueled Ashely to push to be the best she could be.
“Every job I had I kept hearing her say, ‘You’re never going to be anything,’” Ashley begins. “For an educator to tell a kid that their dream is stupid, that is so ridiculous and most educators would never do that. But in all reality, she gave me my first experience with rejection and the word ‘no.'”
Ashley has a little something that one might laugh at and call mischievous in mind for that teacher. “I’m going to send her a copy of the record,” says Ashley. “I’m not gonna sign it, but I’m going to send her a copy of the record with a Post-it note on the front that says ‘Thank you for the years of inspiration.’” Ashley has released a compilation video and audio video for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere”. Check out both video versions and the lyrics below.
