“This year’s tour is for the lifelong fans, and also the younger generations just now discovering the music,” Alabama frontman Randy Owen shared in a press release.
“The band is having fun, selling tickets, and sounding unbelievable vocally,” the band’s manager, Tony Conway, added. “This tour is about the music of the past 49 years – the band’s 43 No. 1 singles. Alabama is still and will always be the greatest country band in American History.”
Shortly before announcing tour, Alabama paid tribute to Charlie Daniels by performing an upbeat rendition of “The South’s Gonna Do It” at Volunteer Jam XX. Guitarist Jeff Cook retired from touring with the band in 2017 due to his battle with Parkinson’s disease, but he made a guest appearance during the performance.
