I’m either all in or all out
I’m in the wooden pew Sunday party crowd
If no one else will drink it then you know I will
And wake up in the morning with some Baptist guilt
Every tattoo’s got a story to tell
Mama said she’s prayin’ hard to keep me outta hell
But whiskey tastes better when you chase it with a beer
But I ain’t telling nothing new to nobody here
If I’m preachin’ to the choir
Raise your hands a little higher
If you wanna sing along to a Saturday night revival song
Let me see you sparking up your lighters
Pour a little payday on the fire
If you’re a forty drinking, forty working, living the dream
Then you’re just like me
And I’m preachin’ to the choir
Preachin’ to the choir
I ain’t rich but I’m grateful
Every time I’m driving with a tank full
“Simple Man” coming through the dashboard speakers
I’m a southern rock sinner, believer
If I’m preachin’ to the choir
Raise your hands a little higher
If you wanna sing along to a Saturday night revival song
Let me see you sparking up your lighters
Pour a little payday on the fire
If you’re a forty drinking, forty working, living the dream
Then you’re just like me
And I’m preachin’ to the choir
Nothing like bourbon and the blues
Smoke ring hallelu’s
Breaking our backs, bending the rules
Southern dry, deep-fried, hearts of gold
Hell, but you already know
That’s right!
Cause I’m preachin’ to the choir
Raise your hands a little higher
If you wanna sing along to a Saturday night revival song
Let me see you sparking up your lighters
Pour a little payday on the fire
If you’re a forty drinking, forty working, living the dream
Then you’re just like me
And I’m preachin’ to the choir
Yeah, I’m preachin’ to the choir
I’m either all in or all out
Cause I’m preachin’ to the choir
That’s right!
The band is named after one of the first songs they wrote. Fans can catch the band on the road with Jason Aldean’s We Were Here Tour this year. A Thousand Horses hits the road with a big country sound as a nine-piece band including three backup singers, a fiddler and a keyboard player. “The whole concept behind this thing is we’re a big band,” Satcher said. “We wanted to showcase the whole thing. I think we’re able to paint the picture of certainly what it’s like on the album. The full vision we had when we wrote these songs.”
Their second album Bridges was due to be released in June. Preachin’ to the choir is a song on the band’s 2nd album. The album is announced on the band’s website stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce that we will be releasing BRAND NEW MUSIC for your wonderful ears to hear JUNE 2nd! We put every ounce of blood, sweat, hard work, passion, persistence, courage, and sometimes literal tears we could muster into these new songs and are over the moon we get to share this big piece of our lives with you”.
