During the 2017 CMA Awards, country music songstress Carrie Underwood sang “Softly and Tenderly” to honor those the country music industry has lost over the last year. At the close of the tribute, the 58 victims of the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting were prominently featured. Understandably, Carrie became emotional during her touching performance.
