Congratulations to Dierks Bentley and Elle King for winning the 2016 CMA Awards Musical Event of the Year.   Nominees for Musical Event of the Year included:

1. Dierks Bentley featuring Elle King with “Different for Girls” (Winner)
2. Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild for “Home Alone Tonight”
3. Keith Urban featuring Carrie Underwood for “The Fighter”
4. Chris Young duet with Cassadee Pope for “Think of You”
5. Chris and Morgane Stapleton for “You are My Sunshine”

“Good Morning America’s” Lara Spencer was live from Nashville with country music star Dierks Bentley, who is nominated for four awards including Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for his latest album, “Black”.   Spencer announced early winners from two of the 12 categories exclusively in advance of tonight’s awards show.  The winner of the CMA Award for Music Video of the Year is: “Fire Away” by Chris Stapleton.  The winner of the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year winner is: “Different For Girls” by Dierks Bentley featuring Elle King.   Watch the winning performance and compare the winner to the other nominees for “Musical Event of the Year” below.

“The 50th Annual CMA Awards” airs live Wednesday, November 2 on ABC-TV. Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will preside over the evening, returning as hosts for the ninth consecutive year.
