The 2016 American Music Awards featured performances from some of today’s hottest artists and presented fan-voted awards in the categories of Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM, Soundtrack, Single of The Year, New Artist of the Year, and Artist of the Year.

Favorite Country Male Artist- Winner, Blake Shelton (beat out Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett)
Favorite Country Female Artist- Winner, Carrie Underwood (won over Cam and Kelsea Ballerini)
Favorite Country Duo or Group- Winner, Florida Georgia Line (topped Old Dominion and Zac Brown Band)
Favorite Country Album- Winner, Carrie Underwood’s Storyteller
Favorite Country Song- Winner, Tim McGraw “Humble and Kind” (beat out Florida Georgia Line‘s “H.O.L.Y.” and Thomas Rhett‘s “Die a Happy Man”)
