After years of stuggling with fertility problems, Charles Kelley and his wife have welcomed a bouncing baby boy this morning! The child’s name is Ward Charles Kelley and he was born at 9:20 a.m. in the couple’s home of Nashville, according to Cassie’s Womanista blog.
When the “Driver” singer and his wife found out they were pregnant they were overjoyed. The two have been married for six years.
“We’re almost four months and I’m due in February and we just found out that we’re having a boy, which I just get choked up thinking about and we’re thankful, we’re so — blessed isn’t a strong enough word … We were up against some incredible odds and it still happened,” Cassie said last year.
Now the new parents are on cloud nine with their new bundle of joy.
“We can’t stop staring at him and he hasn’t stopped chitchatting with us since he arrived,” the couple said today.
“He’s got momma’s nose and daddy’s eyes and vocal chords and a head full of blond hair. We feel like our life just began today and are so grateful for a healthy baby boy in our arms.”
Kelley was performing right up to the birth by playing multiple performances at the Country Radio Seminar, including one at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville.
