It is always a privilege when we get to see inside the personal lives of our favorite country music stars and lately Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins have been incredibly open about the journey of growing their family.
Recently, Rhett and Akins had professional photos taken to commemorate their current pregnancy with Nashville-based photographer Julie Paisley.
Paisley, with the couple’s permission, shared the shoot on her blog and various photos were posted to Instagram.
“Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins. Country music sweethearts. And, they are expecting another little girl and they asked me to photograph their maternity session. Guys, I’m so humbled. So here we go, I interrupt my regular wedding posts to bring you something different and amazing. Right next to shooting weddings, maternity sessions are high on my list of favorites. And this one, well, it’s a little special” Paisley posted on her blog alongside the photos.
The photo-session had to be rescheduled three times because of all the rain Nashville has had lately, but the resulting photos were worth the wait!
“When Lauren texted me a few weeks ago to schedule her maternity session, I just might have squealed a little. I first met Lauren and Thomas Rhett when I photographed Lauren’s sister Macy’s wedding last October and since then I have loved following their story and was especially partial to their recent adoption of Miss Willa Gray. I was so excited to meet her and y’all, she is precious!” Paisley continued.

As for his part of doting husband, Rhett is playing the part well as seen in the photo below where he referred to a super-preggo Akins as a “smokeshow”. Keep that up!
The newest addition to the Rhett family should be here any day. Akins commented on Instagram that “One more family pic from last night…especially because baby girl #2 looks like she’s about ready to party and Willa Gray is actually looking at the camera plus we NEVER take photos together so I’m milking it while I can” as she posted the photo below:
