It looks like 2017 will see the 'Summer of Shania' and we can't wait. Check out what Shania Twain shared just before her appearance on 'The Voice.'
Country music hit-maker Shania Twain joined ‘The Voice’ coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, and Adam Levine Monday night on the popular NBC talent program. The Canadian songbird looked at home while perched on her very own red chair and dishing out the advice to the Top 12 contestants.
Out of all the talented hopefuls, Twain was most responsive to Team Gwen member Brennley Brown’s rendition of Linda Ronstadt’s “Long, Long Time.” The 15-year-old took Twain’s critique to heart during rehearsal and kept her live performance easy and simple. Team Alicia’s Chris Blue also garnered praise from Twain with his take on Al Green’s “Love and Happiness.”
Ahead of her appearance on ‘The Voice,’ the country music maven dropped some new details about what’s to come in terms of her new music to Entertainment Tonight.
“I have a new single coming out in June,” the 51-yer-old superstar shared. “So I’m kicking off the summer with a new song, and then I’m finishing the summer with the release of the album.”
Fans have been early awaiting the release of a new record since the release of 2002’s Up! “It’s been such a long time since I put out a studio album,” she told ET. “I wrote the whole album myself, so it’s a real statement of independence.”
Twain is slated to headline this weekend’s Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California where she plans to debut the single on Saturday.
“Creative independence is something that I haven’t had in a really long time,” Twain confessed about her latest project. “It was really scary taking that leap. The album’s done, and I feel really good. The first single is so optimistic and hopeful — regardless of how bad life could get. I really needed that message.”
We’re thrilled to dive deep into the latest musical output from Twain and are curious to see what more creative control represents within the record. So much has transpired within Shania’s personal life since 2002— raising her son Eja, her painful divorce from former producer Mutt Lange, and marriage to Frédéric Thiébaud.
Through it all, Twain points to music as her way of dealing with life’s ups and downs. “It’s my drug, my emotional outlet… Whether it’s sadness, anger, happiness, inspiration, whatever — it all comes out best in my songwriting,” the artist expressed.
Be sure to share this update with other Shania Twain fans!
