Charlie Daniels‘ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam was quite the event! Watch as country music icon Randy Travis surprises Charlie Daniels here.
Besides Luke Bryan’s strange altercation with an audience member, something else big occurred during Charlie Daniels‘ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam in Nashville last night! Randy Travis took to the stage in order to present Charlie Daniels with the Rare Country Humanitarian of the Year Award for his efforts on behalf of U.S. military veterans.
Enjoy the heartwarming moment unfold below!
“This has been an incredible year,” 80-year-old Daniels told the enthusiastic crowd. “I am so honored to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame along with my brother Randy Travis. I was so surprised when he came walking out here. This is one of the strongest, most courageous men that I know. And I can tell you, he’s getting better yet, and he’ll sing again!”
As country music fans know, Travis suffered a massive stroke in 2013 and has been working hard to regain mobility and his speech.
While on stage, Travis thrilled the audience by replying to his dear friend’s glowing statements with a simple, “Thank you very much.”
The special event raised an amazing $245,000 for the Journey Home Project, which helps aid U.S. military veterans. The star-studded lineup included Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Travis Tritt, 3 Doors Down, Kid Rock, and Larry the Cable Guy.
It’s wonderful to see Randy Travis out in public and doing so well! Share this with other fans of these two country music legends.
