Miranda Lambert Recalls First Time She Heard Her Song on the Radio

Miranda Lambert didn’t believe her songs would be on the radio. She talks about how she felt the first time she heard her song on the FM dial.

Country singer Miranda Lambert reflects back on getting her first big break on Country Radio. Even though it’s hard to imagine, everyone one of our favorite country music superstars had the experience of hearing themselves on the radio for the very first time. Mostly when this happens it’s completely a surprise, as was the case with Miranda Lambert.

She recalls riding in the car in 2004 and being in total disbelief when her first single “Me and Charlie Talking” started playing over the speakers.

“I was in Dallas, driving to the airport, and I heard it; the song was “Me and Charlie Talking.” I almost didn’t think it was on the radio. I thought there was a CD in because I kind of forgot I had one out. But it was definitely an exciting moment. I think all of us in the car screamed!” Lambert recalled to Taste of Country.

She has just finished third on the singing competition show Nashville Star and had released her first major label album titled Kerosene.

Since then Lambert has gone on to release six studio albums and had many songs on the radio, but we are sure she enjoys hearing herself come across the dashboard every time it happens.

You can catch Miranda Lambert at the CMA Music Festival where she will be participating in her MuttNation charity march. This will be the first ever and people are encourage to march with her and bring their own pets to raise money for animals in need.

“So many shelter pets need a home, so we are going to march to raise awareness,” Lambert said in a press release. “Country music has the best fans in the world, and together we can help so many animals find amazing homes.”

Lambert, along with some of her own pups, and a host of other animal-lovers will walk from Nissan Stadium in East Nashville, over the Cumberland River and all the way to downtown Nashville.
