Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Gives Nearly $200K to Animal Shelters

Country music superstar Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation recently surprised a group of carefully vetted animal shelters with needed grants!

Country music superstar Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation recently surprised more than 50 carefully selected animal shelters across the country with grants ranging from $3000-$5000— totaling an impressive $189,000!

“I am amazed and humbled by the great work these shelters do, and so honored to be able to support their critical efforts on behalf of rescue animals,” Miranda shared in a statement.

The Mutts Across America program was founded by Miranda’s mom, Bev Lambert, and has cumulatively awarded over 200 shelters with more than $775,000. The MuttNation Board of Directors thoroughly researches and selects the shelters based on a range of criteria including: adoption rate, volunteerism, fiscal responsibility, community presence, and other important areas of interest.

“The shelter selection process proved to be more complex than initially thought. During our first year we soon discovered that all shelters are not created equally. We feel we have now developed a criterion list through which we hand pick the ‘best of the best’ shelters. Miranda and I, along with our board of directors, are honored to join forces with them in our mutual drive to benefit Mutts Across America,” Bev stated.

Besides giving deserving shelters grants, the star is also doing good while out on tour. Miranda is currently on her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour and is collecting dog food, treats, supplies, and cash donations to benefit a local shelter at each of her tour stops. The “Fill the Little Red Wagon” campaign is in full effect at her concerts and can be located at the entrance of each venue before the show.
