Country music star Maren Morris isn't letting Monday's terrorist attack stop her from bringing her music overseas on tour this year. More here.
After the May 22th terrorist attack at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, England, country music artist Maren Morris promises fans in the shocked and grieving city that she will be there this November as promised.
“We do this to connect. For just a few hours, no matter what religion, race, gender, or economic background you come from, music tethers us. My heart is broken for Manchester, but I want my fans there to know that I can’t wait to see you and give you all big hugs this Fall. No one should fear walking into a venue or onto a stage. It’s our job to fight that and have the best time ever. We do this for each other and that will never be stopped,” Maren shared on Instagram.
Maren’s boyfriend and tour opener Ryan Hurd also shared her wise words via Instagram and added his own insight on how the talented couple responded to the tragic news.
“We talked about this all day yesterday. It’s heavy and it should hit close to home. There’s sadness and honestly a part of us that feels fear, and truth be told I’m scared to death that she’s going over there Sunday for promo. I feel like most of the time our job is to be a mirror, but there’s a reason that we’re given a microphone. There is nothing else to say about someone strapping a nail bomb to their chest to kill kids at a concert, but scared or not, we’re going to sing our faces off in November. Songs about music being our church, about love in bars like the O2 Ritz, about hate being present but not winning in the end. Proud of MM every day, but f— talking about bodyguards instead of rock and roll, country music, and the excitement of a tour. She’s one of the few and always the first to use her voice for more than just singing, but I’m excited for her to just get to sing. See you in November.”
The determined Texan’s Hero Tour is scheduled to stop at Manchester’s O2 Ritz on November 20th with other dates sprinkled throughout the UK and Ireland. View her full tour schedule here.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Manchester.
