Maren Morris and Niall Horan just released an acoustic version of their recent pop-country duet, "Seeing Blind." Check it out here!
Country singer Maren Morris and pop artist Niall Horan joined musical forces to create “Seeing Blind,” a pop-country hit. It appeared on Horan’s solo album, which he produced after he left his band, One Direction. The two performed the track at the 2017 CMA Awards, and fans loved it. Now, they released an acoustic version to switch things up and add emotion.
Listen below!
It’s hard to deny the chemistry between Morris and Horan when they sing together, but they’re just friends in the business. Their powerful vocals blend well together, mixing their two differing musical styles in this acoustic version. Morris sings with country soul while Horan adds his pop-folk sound.
The impromptu video was filmed in Morris’ second-home – her Nashville recording studio. It gives the song a more intimate feeling, which adds to the acoustic setting. As they harmonize, it makes the music come to life again, just like the original track.
Within the past years of working together, the country and pop singers got to know each other more. Horan approaches his solo career differently than his time with One Direction, letting his down-to-earth personality show. They’ve turned their work relationship into becoming great friends both on and off the stage! Plus, Morris appreciates the change of scenery (or sound) while working with pop music.
“He’s the best guy, and he had the best time at the CMAs this past year,” Morris told Sounds Like Nashville about their friendship. “He’d never been to a country awards show, so I think he was like enamored at how friendly everyone was and how much everyone is actually friends with each other, and he was just bowled over by that. Then, I look over and he’s getting Luke Bryan’s number and I just thought that was so adorable…”
Their friendship is evident in the way they sing together, too. Morris is on the road with Horan for his Flicker World Tour, stopping in cities all over the world! They come to the U.S. starting in mid-July. For tickets and more information, visit Maren Morris’ website.
