Country music hit-maker Keith Urban's music career has been full of highlights and is not slowing down anytime soon! More here.
Country music superstar Keith Urban was recently a special guest on the Billboard Chart Beat Podcast with host Jim Asker and candidly discussed his two decades on the Nashville scene. The New Zealand native answered many questions regarding his success and everything that comes with being ‘The Keith Urban.’
Urban started off the interview by talking highly of his longtime record label, “Capitol [Records] and I have been together a long, long time; I signed in 1997. So, to still be there 21 years later is extraordinary. It’s a testament to how supportive the label has been of me and my music and where I’m interested in going with it.”
While speaking of top chart leads, Keith admitted he will never grow tired of making the charts, as he has owned 16 No. 1’s, 38 straight top 10s in a row, 21 No.1 of Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart – ranking him #6 among all artists in the history of the chart, six No. 1’s on Top Country Albums, two No. 1’s on the Billboard 200 and most recent, Graffiti U earned a No. 1 as well. Urban told Jim, “It’s an amazing feeling, absolutely. It’s like hearing, ‘I love you’ you never get sick of it. It’s beautiful.”
Keith also reflected taking time away to be with his family with actress Nicole Kidman. Although he has a busy schedule and is often on the road, the hit-maker understands the importance of carving out quality time with his wife and two daughters, Sunday and Faith.
Urban is almost finished with his 59-stop Graffiti U Worldwide Tour, with the final North American show being November 3rd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
