Shorr was born and raised in Portland, Maine on July 11, 1994, where she was the youngest of seven children born to a single mother. She began writing songs at the age of 6 and learned to play guitar at the agoe of 13. Kalie was inspired by rock and pop and decided on a Country Music future after hearing Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt”. At the age of 19, she moved to Nashville and became part of a weekly songwriter’s showcase called Song Suffragettes. The group highlights the work of talented female singer/songwriters in Nashville and helped Kalie gain exposure.

I can drink any man under the table
You say I should have a warning label
But you like it, yeah you like it
When I lose my keys I lose my mind
You just laugh and roll your eyes
But you like it, yeah you like it.
I’m not perfect, you don’t care
I ain’t sorry, you ain’t scared.
Cause you got two hands
That know how to hold me,
Loving like only you can
And maybe you’re crazy but baby you’ll take me as I am
You know I don’t try to but I can be hard to handle
I might be a handful
But that’s why you got two hands. That’s why you got two hands.
Well you hold the door but don’t hold me down
Because you know you got nothing to worry about
And I like it, yeah I like it
You’re tall, dark and confident
Who cares if we’re opposites because I like it
Oh baby I like it.
Cause you got two hands
That know how to hold me,
Loving like only you can
And maybe you’re crazy but baby you’ll take me as I am
You know I don’t try to but I can be hard to handle
I might be a handful
But that’s why you got two hands. That’s why you got two hands
This song is Kalie’s second track on her highly anticipated Awake EP.
