Jason Aldean Cancels Weekend Tour Dates After Las Vegas Attack

Country music superstar Jason Aldean has nixed three California tour dates in the wake of Sunday's Las Vegas mass shooting. More here.

Understandably, country music star Jason Aldean has canceled his upcoming tour dates in Los Angeles (Oct. 6), San Diego (Oct. 7), and Anaheim, California (Oct. 8) out of respect for the victims of the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting. The following message was posted to the entertainer’s official Facebook Page and website:

“As a result of what happened in Las Vegas this week, we have decided to cancel this coming weekend’s shows. I feel like out of respect for the victims, their families and our fans, it is the right thing to do. It has been an emotional time for everyone involved this week, so we plan to take some time to mourn the ones we have lost and be close with our family and friends. Our plan is to resume the tour the following week in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our first time back onstage will be a very tough and emotional thing for us, but we will all get through it together and honor the people we lost by doing the only thing we know how to do – play our songs for them. I hope everyone understands why we can’t play this weekend and I’m sorry if anyone is disappointed.

I want to say thank you for the outpouring of love from my friends and fans we have received over the last couple days. You guys have no idea how much you have helped get us through this tough time.

Thank You and God Bless.
JA”

Information on ticket refunds and Meet & Greet date changes can be located here. Aldean’s They Don’t Know Tour will resume October 12th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Georgia native was in the middle of his headlining set on the final night of the music festival when 64-year-old gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire, killing 59 concertgoers and injuring more than 500. Aldean, his crew, and pregnant wife Brittany were able to exit the stage area and seek safety during the chaos.

We can’t imagine what the surviving victims and the loved ones of the deceased are going through right now. It’s hard to even fathom the scope of this senseless tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all those touched by this horrific event.
