Country music entertainer Jason Aldean looked to his favorite artists and albums while creating new music. Check out which musical acts made an impact...
While creating his latest album, Rearview Town, country music hit-maker Jason Aldean revisited the past works of his favorite musicians for inspiration.
“Honestly, I probably go back and listen to more old albums than I do new albums,” the Georgia native confessed to Nash Country Daily. “I have my go-to records, and I’ll go back and listen to Alabama’s Mountain Music or the Allman Brothers’ Brothers and Sisters album . . . or Hank Jr.’s Major Moves and John Anderson’s I Just Came Home to Count the Memories. I love going back and listening to all that stuff because I think a lot of times music kinda comes full circle, too. A lot of stuff that was being used in the ’70s and ’80s, it kinda [went] away in the ’90s, and all of the sudden in the 2000s, it’s new and fresh again, so you start hearing that instrumentation coming back around.”
He’s right— what’s “old” is being made new again. Just look at the modern crop of artists bringing more traditional elements to the table— Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Jon Pardi, Midland, and Kacey Musgraves, to name a few.
The star’s track “Drowns the Whiskey” featuring Miranda Lambert certainly carries some old-school flare. Enjoy the music video starring the pair below!
