Jake Owen’s Long Hair is Making a Comeback [Pics]

Country music star Jake Owen has been all about making big moves lately, from a new record label to growing out his hair...

Back in August 2014, country music artist Jake Owen shocked his fans by chopping off his signature brunette locks. Well, Owen has finally decided to return to his surfer boy look.

“Spoiler alert… I’m growing that flow back,” Jake shared via Twitter.

Right now, Jake’s stuck in the awkward growing-it-out phase.

And that’s why hats are amazing… (Oh goodness, Pearl is looking so grown up!)

Switching up his hair game isn’t the only thing Jake has changed recently. On the musical front, the country star linked up with Big Loud Records in November. This move reunites the Florida native with Big Loud co-founder Joey Moi, who produced his 2011 Barefoot Blue Jean Night album— which garnered Owen four consecutive No. 1 hits.

“I couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter in my career with Big Loud,” Jake shared in a statement about his new partnership. “The passion for success that everyone has in the building is contagious. Combining what I already do with Big Loud’s expertise is exciting, and I am eager to get to work with Joey Moi again. We had great success in the past and I’m looking forward to what the future holds for all of us.” ‬‬‬‬‬

In celebration of the star’s latest endeavors, let’s revisit Jake’s hit song “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and its music video, which also prominently displays his former hairstyle.

“Barefoot Blue Jean Night” Lyrics

A full moon shinin’ bright
Edge of the water, we were feelin’ alright
Back down a country road
The girls are always hot, and the beer is ice cold
Cadillac, horns on the hood
My buddy Frankie had his dad hook him up good
Girls smile when we roll by
They hop in the back, and we cruise to the river side
Never gonna grow up (Whoa-oh)
Never gonna slow down (Whoa-oh)
We were shinin’ like lighters in the dark
In the middle of a rock show (Whoa-oh)
We were doin’ it right (Whoa-oh)
We were comin’ alive (Whoa-oh)
Yeah, caught in a southern summer, barefoot, blue jean night
Blue eyes and auburn hair
Sittin’ lookin’ pretty by the fire in a lawn chair
New to town, and new to me
Her ruby red lips was sippin’ on sweet tea
Shot me in love like a shootin’ star
So, I grabbed a beer and an old guitar
Then we sat around till the break of dawn
Howlin’ and singin’ our favorite song
Never gonna grow up (Whoa-oh)
Never gonna slow down (Whoa-oh)
We were shinin’ like lighters in the dark
In the middle of a rock show (Whoa-oh)
We were doin’ it right (Whoa-oh)
We were comin’ alive (Whoa-oh)
Yeah, caught up in a southern summer, barefoot, blue jean night
Whoa-oh, never gonna grow up, ha
Never gonna slow down
We were shinin’ like lighters in the dark
In the middle of a rock show (Whoa-oh)
We were doin’ it right (Whoa-oh)
We were comin’ alive (Whoa-oh)
Yeah, caught in a southern summer, barefoot, blue jean night
Barefoot, blue jean night (Whoa-oh)
Barefoot, blue jean night (Whoa-oh)
Barefoot, blue jean night (Whoa-oh)
Barefoot, blue jean night (Whoa-oh)
Barefoot, blue jean night (Whoa-oh)
Barefoot, blue jean night
