Hunter Hayes Adopts New Dog From Shelter

Hunter Hayes recently adopted another furry friend from a Nashville animal shelter to accompany his first dog, Cole. Meet Ella here!

Louisiana native Hunter Hayes has a soft spot for furry friends. He rescued his first dog, a retired racing greyhound named Cole, from a shelter and just added a second rescue dog to the family. Hayes brought his new pup, Ella, home from the Proverbs 12:10 Rescue shelter in Nashville. She is a bit more energetic than Cole, but Hayes seems to enjoy them both very much.

As the “Yesterday’s Song” singer shared in his Instagram post, Ella does not sit still for very long.  Hayes and girlfriend Libby Barnes are excited to bring the whippet/beagle mix home from the shelter. The couple enjoyed their experience rescuing Cole, and wanted to help another dog out. They will have lots of adventures ahead with Cole and Ella.

The Proverbs 12:10 Rescue shelter is a no-kill and nonprofit animal rescue center. They raise funds mainly through bake sales, raffles, donations and large media campaigns. The organization is inspired by the Proverbs 12:10 Bible verse. It says, “A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.”

Hayes is also helping to raise awareness about the benefits of dogs, especially for military veterans and their families. He partnered with Heartgard Plus and the Warrior Canine Connection to inform others about the cause. Check out Hunter Hayes and his dog, Cole, supporting these organizations on Instagram below:

Not only does he have two dogs to keep him busy now, but Hunter Hayes also has new music coming soon! The 25-year-old Country singer is getting ready to release a new album later this year. The album will feature three of Hayes’ singles including “Yesterday’s Song,” “Amen,” and “Young Blood,” which he released in 2016. It will be his fourth album, coming shortly after The 21 Project in 2015. Hayes also revealed that his new music is inspired by a past breakup as well as him experimenting and growing as an artist.

Be sure to share Hunter Hayes’ furry friends with other fans!
