Happy 56th Birthday to Garth Brooks!

It's country music superstar Garth Brooks' birthday today! Check out what he's been up to lately and what he has planned right here!

On February 7, 1962, Troyal Garth Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Troyal Raymond Brooks, Jr. and Colleen McElroy Carroll. To celebrate the country music legend’s 56th birthday, his wife Trisha Yearwood posted this cute throwback photo…

In December, country music power couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary. While their marriage spans a little over a decade, the pair have known each other since first being introduced in 1987. At the time, both artists were recording demos and trying to promote themselves to different labels. Although they both instantly felt a deep connection, both Brooks and Yearwood were married to other people but kept up their friendship. As we all know, Trisha eventually split from her second husband Robert “Bobby” Reynolds and Garth divorced the mother of his three daughters, Sandy Mahl.

Now that the pair have finished up their massive World Tour, they can devote themselves to other projects. As for Garth, he has his sights set on a live album from his wildly successful tour which hit 78 cities across North America.

“With the tour ending, all the live stuff is now coming to a boil. I think the next song, if it’s something off a record you’ve heard or if it’s brand new, I think it’s going to be a live version of it because I want to bring that energy to radio as well,” the superstar explained. “I’d love to capture what goes on on the stage and get it on the radio waves.”

This spring, fans can catch Brooks headlining Stagecoach 2018 alongside Keith Urban and country duo Florida Georgia Line. Yearwood is also slated to perform at the Indio, California event which will run Friday, April 27th through Sunday, April 29th. What makes this even more exciting is the fact that Brooks rarely ever makes festival appearances!

Although it’s Garth’s birthday week, he extended a very special invitation to a Swedish newlywed during Monday night’s installment of Inside Studio G: A Monday Night Conversation.

Elisabeth Wadin asked the star for recommendations for her upcoming honeymoon trip to America and Brooks graciously invited the couple to have dinner at his home in Nashville.

“I’m gonna get my butt kicked by my wife for this one,” Brooks said. “What would you think about you and your husband — why don’t you make a stop in Nashville and why don’t you come to our house and have dinner with me and Ms. Yearwood?” Adding, “You let me know when you’re gonna be here and I’ll make sure of it.”

How cool is that? We hope Elisabeth and her husband take him up on the offer!

Happy Birthday, Garth!
