Country music singer-songwriter Eric Church has lost his brother, Brandon Church. More details on the scholarship fund set up in his memory here.
Sad news from the Eric Church camp. The North Carolina native and his family are reeling from the loss of Brandon Church, who passed away on Friday, June 29th.
“It is with great sadness to confirm that Eric’s brother, Brandon, passed away on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers we are encouraging everyone to donate to a Scholarship Memorial Fund created on Brandon’s behalf. You can leave a message that will go via email directly to [parents] Ken and Rita,” the star’s fan club page shared.
The website for the Brandon Church Memorial Scholarship can be found here.
“This loving memorial is set up to honor Brandon E. Church, beloved son, brother, father and friend. In lieu of flowers, please pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education. The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to bless others and honor a benevolent life. Thank you for showing your love and support to the Church family,” the memorial fund page reads.
No word on Brandon’s cause of death or if Eric will be cancelling any upcoming shows. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Church family.
Update: According to TMZ, Brandon had been suffering from seizures over the last few years and suffered two on Friday. The second seizure led to cardiac arrest and the 36-year-old’s death.

“Talladega” Lyrics
It was the summer before the real world started and,
The deal was we would get to go, if we
Cleaned it up, and got it running,
Daddy’s old Winnebago and
Wing and a prayer down 65,
Five best friends on four bald tires,
I can still see Billy smiling, when we finally made it.
To Talladega, boys raised up,
Whiskey in your glass, here’s to turning up,
Slowing down and cars that go real fast,
We were laughing and living, drinking and wishing,
And thinking as that checkered flag was waving,
Sure would like to stay in
Talladega
Like a storm, time rolls on,
You can’t hit pause as we just did.
Most days in life don’t stand out,
But life’s about those days that will, like,
Rocking rando, getting rowdy,
Shooting roman candles at the man in the moon,
Til the Alabama sun was breaking
Over Talladega, boys raised up,
Whiskey in your glass, here’s to turning up,
Slowing down and cars that go real fast,
We were laughing and living, drinking and wishing,
And thinking as that checkered flag was waving,
Sure would like to stay in
Talladega
Talladega
When the winds go cold and it blows October,
I think about us shoulder to shoulder,
Like those cars my thoughts roll over and over and over,
In my mind
Tonight I’m in Talladega, boys raised up,
Whiskey in your glass, here’s to turning up,
Slowing down and cars that go real fast,
We were laughing and living, drinking and wishing,
And thinking as that checkered flag was waving,
Sure would like to stay in
Talladega
