Rising country music artist Devin Dawson‘s “Dark Horse” music video is now available for all of his fans to enjoy. Dawson invited fans as well as industry members to Warren Paint & Color Company, where the music video was filmed. Individuals in attendance were able to see the set as the first time being released to the public, followed up by a surprise live performance of the hit single being debuted. The music video is directed by Justin Clough, with the film made in black and white.
Dawson co-wrote the tune with Andy Albert and Andrew DeRoberts, creating a masterpiece that grabs your undivided attention. The star’s headlining Stray Off Course Tour made it to its final stop in Medina, OH on Feb. 23. Now he will be headed overseas for spring shows in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. He will then head back to the states for concerts across the US, including festivals such as Stagecoach and others. You can access more of his upcoming concert dates here.
You can follow his black and white journey that translates to his Instagram where you are unlikely to find a single photo in color dating as far back as the year 2012. It’s hard not to admire the dedication.
“Dark Horse” Lyrics
People always ask why I wear black
Where’d I get my style and why I never smile in pictures
They ask me what I drink, I’ll sip on anything
But I’m a little more California smoke than liquor
No, it ain’t that I’m self-conscious, I’m just conscious of myself
I’ll side with the outsiders
Those long-shot last-round fighters
Anyone who ain’t afraid to stray off course
My heart bleeds for country music
Where the honest outlaw truth is
No, I ain’t no white knight
I’m a little more
Dark horse
No, I don’t go to church, can’t quote a bible verse
I couldn’t sing a song, that don’t mean that I don’t talk to Jesus
Girls say I push them off, that I can’t open up
But I ain’t afraid of love, when I say it I just want to mean it
Yeah, I side with the outsiders
Those long-shot last-round fighters
Anyone who ain’t afraid to stray off course
My heart bleeds for country music
Where the honest outlaw truth is
No, I ain’t no white knight
I’m a little more
Dark horse, ooh yeah
Dark horse
No, it ain’t that I’m self-conscious, I’m just conscious of myself
And I don’t know how to be nobody else
So I side with the outsiders
Those long-shot last-round fighters
Anyone who ain’t afraid to stray off course
My heart bleeds for country music
Where my honest outlaw truth is
No, I ain’t no white knight
I’m a little more
Dark horse, ooh yeah
Hm, dark horse
Dark horse, ooh yeah
Hm, dark horse
