On Tuesday, Chris Stapleton took his touching brand new song “Broken Halos” off of his new album From A Room: Volume 1 to The Howard Stern Show. Enjoy the moving live performance below!
While on the show, Stapleton also participated in interview with Howard and dropped some interesting tidbits, such as how he landed his first-ever contract with Capitol Records. He literally sand the phonebook, “Almost as a joke but yeah, they offered me a record deal,” Chris admitted.
He also touched upon the fact that international superstar Adele covered “If It Hadn’t Been for Love,” which was recorded by Stapleton’s former bluegrass band the SteelDrivers
“This was before Adele was Adele,” Chris shared with Howard. The cover was featured on the U.K. limited edition of her hit 21 album and Chris told Howard he was “thrilled” by her delivery of the song. “I love her as a singer and as an artist,” Chris said. “I always kind of like to write the songs and they get turned loose into the world and who knows what happens with them.”
Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show Tour is in full swing with ten additional shows recently announced. The new dates include performances in Houston, Dallas, Tampa, and Omaha as well as a hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in October. Joining the Kentucky native on the road are Brothers Osborne, Lucie Silvas, Anderson East, Brent Cobb, Margo Price, and Marty Stuart. Get more information about the tour here.
Fans can look forward to the release of Stapleton’s album From A Room: Volume 2 later this year. Like From A Room: Volume 1, this upcoming album was recorded in Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A.
“There’s a lot of history in that room,” Chris quipped. “It certainly inspires me.”
