Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum will be dedicating 2016 to his first solo tour and album, and he has some surprises in store for fans. One of them being a collaboration with the one and only Miranda Lambert. On Friday (Dec. 11), Kelley shared an Instagram from the studio that included a hint that Lambert will be among one of the big name artists that will be included on the album.
“The Driver,” his current GRAMMY-nominated single with special guests Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay, will be also be included on the album which has no confirmed release date yet.
Kelley was supposed to be on tour currently, but had to postpone until next year for unknown reasons.
Initially, Kelley was very excited about the tour because it included some smaller venues, which was a big difference from his Lady Antebellum big arena shows.
“I’ve played some great shows at arenas and amphitheaters, but I’m definitely looking forward to getting into clubs with people grabbing on your legs and being able to see every face,” Kelley said upon announcing the dates initially.
“I can’t wait to get right up there in it with the fans and try out some of this new stuff we’ve been working on. I’m pretty excited about just scrapping the set list and playing whatever we feel like playing.”
Kelley will now continue the tour in the early part of next year.
“A portion of upcoming tour dates is moving to early 2016,” a statement on Kelley’s website reads. “For more information on rescheduled dates, check back here. Thanks for your continued support. Stay tuned for major album release news coming soon!”
Additionally, the Dallas Observer reports in an interview with the tour’s opener Maren Morris that the tour has been cancelled.
