Country music star Carrie Underwood‘s husband Mike Fisher recently retired from the NHL and is wasting no time getting in some father-son bonding time with 3-year-old Isaiah. Mike is teaching his little man some archery skills…
According to Carrie, Isaiah isn’t too thrilled about hitting the ice like his father but he does take interest in other physical activities.
“He likes to climb. He likes to run. We try to get him to play hockey but he’s not interested,” she explained during a recent interview with the Ty, Kelly and Chuck radio show. “He’s in that time where if he can’t do something, he doesn’t want to try. If it’s hard and he can’t do it, he moves on.”
As for if he possesses musical talent, that remains to be be seen.
“I think he is going to be able to sing,” the country star shared. “I hope, I think. When I try to get him to sing… he won’t do it.”
As for what the couple share about their son with the public, they are careful not to overshare or post things on social media that could embarrass him when he’s older.
“If he decided to want to be in the public eye when he gets older, then that’s his choice. We are just careful about not putting too much stuff out there,” Underwood added.
While fans only get occasional glimpses of Isaiah, it’s easy to see that he’s a busy kid and isn’t afraid to try new things! Check out Isaiah in action…

As of right now, Fisher plans to focus on spending more time at home in Nashville with Isaiah and Carrie. The athlete also admitted that he would also welcome a possible front-office role with the Nashville Predators in the future.
While Mike settles into his new normal, Carrie is preparing to drop her upcoming album Cry Pretty on September 14th. The highly-anticipated project is her first studio album through her new record label, Capitol Records Nashville. She has also hinted that a tour announcement is on the way as well, but no official details have been made public yet.
