Country music star Brad Paisley performed the National Anthem at World Series Game 2. Take a look at the incredible performance here!
On October 25th, country music star Brad Paisley was gifted the opportunity to perform the country’s National Anthem before Wednesday’s World Series game. Dodger Stadium, in Los Angeles, played host to Game 2 of the Fall Classic between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros. Paisley is known for being a huge fan of the sport, but his favorite team is the Dodgers. In fact, just hours before the game, Paisley tweeted, “Thrilled and honored to sing our National Anthem at game 2 of the #worldseries tomorrow, @Dodgers vs @astros. Plaaaaay Ballllllllll.” As the West Virginia native walked on the field, he received a warm welcome from the crowd.
Instead of jamming out too much on the guitar, the “Heaven” artist took the simple approach. However, he did throw in a few notes of his own. When asked how he handled the big performance so well, Paisley told Fox News, “The trick with something like this is to put your heart in it. The national anthem, because everybody does it, it feels like a cover. But if you actually just stand there and put your heart into it and try to deliver this for America’s pastime at the World Series…that’s what I think translates.”
Ultimately the Dodgers ended up losing the ball game 7-6 after a hard fought offensive duel. Still, Paisley appeared to enjoy his evening. Not only did he deliver his own rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” Paisley was granted the opportunity to meet several of his favorite baseball players, including future Hall Of Fame pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Coming up next on the 45-year-old star’s agenda is another crack at co-hosting the CMA Awards, which will take place on November 8th. To no one’s surprise, Carrie Underwood will be the other co-host. 2017 marks the 10th consecutive year Paisley and Underwood have been offered the honor. Also, during the show Brad Paisley will be performing “Heaven South” alongside rising star Kane Brown. Looking forward to that one!
