Shania and Carrie Underwood need to team up for a “Poor Me”/ “Dirty Laundry” mashup. Wouldn’t that be epic?

“Poor Me” Lyrics

Found it in his closet
Right behind the lies
I wish I never saw it
The secret in his eyes

Poor, poor me

He never told me how long
I’d been living in the dark
No one turned the light on
I fell and broke my heart

Poor, poor me
Po-or me

Poor me this
Poor me that
Why do I keep looking back?
Poor me this
Poor me that
It’s not white, it’s not black

Grey’s the colour that I see
Still can’t believe he’d leave me
To love her

Pour, pour me
Another

Tried to face it
But so far down inside
I just can’t shake it
My stupid pride

Poor, poor me
Po-or me

Poor me this
Poor me that
Why do I keep looking back?
Poor me this
Poor me that
It’s not white, it’s not black

Grey’s the colour that I see
Still can’t believe he’d leave me
To love her

Pour, pour me
Another

I know it should get better
Oh, but it never does
I wish he’d never met her
Then everything would be the way it was

Poor me this
Poor me that

Poor me this
Poor me that

Poor me this
Poor me that
Why do I keep looking back?
Poor me this
Poor me that
It’s not white, it’s not black

Grey’s the colour that I see
I still can’t believe that he’d leave me
To love her

Poor, poor me
Pour, pour me
Another

Offered as both a 16-track deluxe and a 12-track standard album, both versions of NOW will feature Shania’s debut single, “Life’s About To Get Good” and “Poor Me.” Shania co-produced her upcoming record with four producers across the 16 tracks including Matthew Koma, Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Gavin DeGraw), Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes) and Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones).

Shania discusses being the sole songwriter of her new music, “I’m a songwriter first. That absolutely drives everything. It was a big step toward independence. I pushed myself, knowing it was going to scare me and knowing that I, alone, was responsible for however it turned out. I love collaborating, but I didn’t want any emotional, psychological, or musical influence. The minute you invite somebody into that space, you’re influenced. And then it wouldn’t be me. It wouldn’t be pure. This may be the purest work I ever do.”
