Sam Hunt Talks About Choosing Chris Janson, Maren Morris, and Ryan Follese As Tour Mates

Sam Hunt Picks Artists For Tour

Sam Hunt will go out on his first ever headlining summer tour with artists he hand picked himself.

Since coming onto the scene in 2014 with his debut Montevallo, Sam Hunt has had four number one hit songs and his most recent, “Body Like A Backroad”, is poised to earn him his fifth.

Hunt has opened for everyone from Kenny Chesney to Lady Antebellum and now he is getting ready to embark on the cross-country part on his very own tour, called the 15 in a 30 Tour. The tour officially started at the beginning of this month on June 1 on Ohio.

A lot the times artists don’t choose who they tour with, their record label does. However, when it came time to choose the tour mates for Sam Hunt, he decided to take charge. Hunt hand- picked Chris Janson, Ryan Follese, and Maren Morris for reasons he explains below.

“Most of our camp, and from what I know about the other camps, everybody is kind of laid back, and I think the title of the tour, 15 in a 30, will reflect that,” Hunt explains. “It will still be high energy and a good time.”

“These are people who I just was drawn to,” Hunt said. “They seemed like they loved what they do, they care about what they do, they’re passionate and talented, and there’s an integrity to them as people and their music,” he continues.

Chris Janson came onto the scene in 2015 with his viral hit song “Buy Me a Boat” and follow-up “Holdin’ Her”, which was about his relationship with his supportive wife.

Looking forward to 3:45 today! Riverstage @cma

Maren Morris exploded with her song “My Church” which hit number one on the Country Digital Songs chart in 2016 and gave her the 2016 “CMA New Artist of the Year” award.

Ryan Follese used to front the rock band Hot Chelle Rae but returned to his country music roots in 2016 with the release of the single “Float Your Boat”.
