Proud Texan, Miranda Lambert has been around trucks since day one, from her childhood spent on a farm to owning a ranch in Oklahoma now, she lives by her own rules and sticks to her homegrown roots. Given her history, it totally makes sense that the country star would partner up with Ram Trucks for an exciting new marketing campaign!
The country songbird penned the folksy song Roots and Wings especially for Ram Trucks and shot a live action music video combined with illustrations, animation, and personal family photos. Many locations featured in the video actually come from a part of Lambert’s past. Besides the engaging video, Roots and Wings also serves as the soundtrack for the television spots.
“I am very inspired by what the Ram brand stands for – being who you are, working hard, staying true to your roots,” Lambert stated. “I wanted to write a song that would represent all of those things. ‘Roots and Wings’ is personal to me about where I come from and where I am going. The guys at Ram really made the lyrics come to life with the imagery and I hope it speaks to people the way it does to me.”
The marketing push featuring Miranda will include television, print, digital, social media, and more video elements. The television commercials currently appear on various network and cable channels and the first print ad will appear this February in Country Weekly magazine.
The campaign will also coincide with Miranda’s Certified Platinum Tour. The silver Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is the Official Truck of the Certified Platinum Tour, and will tow Lambert’s beloved Airstream trailer to each concert venue. Fans will be able to view the truck on display and are invited to post pictures using #RootsWingsRAM for a chance to win an exclusive Miranda Lambert and Ram prize pack!
