Miranda Lambert has been through hell and back emotionally over the last couple of years. From her high-profile marriage to fellow country music star Blake Shelton ending in divorce to finding love again with boyfriend Anderson East. The talented Texan drew upon her roller coaster of personal experiences while creating her latest album The Weight of These Wings.
In the video clip below, Lambert shares her source of inspiration and personal thoughts while singing “Dear Old Sun.”
“I have so much more learning to do and so much more time to spend on honing my craft, but this inspires me, this whole process, because I know that you are able to use things in your life for your art’s sake and for your heart’s sake,” the song bird sagely expressed.
Lambert also boldly shared how her outlook on life has evolved along with this project, “It makes me not afraid of whatever else is coming my way, because if it’s great, I’ll be ready for it. And if it’s bad, I’ll be ready for it.”
That’s a really mature and healthy mindset to adopt. The star is clearly surrounded by a supportive group of friends and collaborators, including Ashley Monroe and Gwen Sebastian, which has helped immensely.
