While piecing together his latest album, Ripcord, country hitmaker Keith Urban wasn’t shy when it came to combining multiple musical influences. His track “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is delightfully moody with a unique waltz edge.
In this new video footage, Urban shows us what all went into the making of the track. While the crooner didn’t pen the song himself, he felt a strong connection to the tune and wanted it to be included on Ripcord.
“There’s a few songs on the record I didn’t write,” Keith explains in the clip. “I got sent a lot of songs and I got sent this one song called ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color,’ that I loved the title first of all. Obviously, the song just hit me. Lyrically, melodically, it was not like anything I’d cut before.”
