Funeral arrangements have been announced for Joey Martin Feek. At age 40, Joey lost her battle with Stage IV Cervical cancer on Friday, March 4th, 2016, around 2:30pm. She was in hospice care in her native hometown of Alexandria, IN and resided with husband Rory in Pottsville, TN.

Rory Feek shared the sad news of Joey Feek‘s death via his This Life I Live blog and the official Joey+Rory Facebook Page. He had recently reflected on her amazing life, “In the 40 short years that Joey has lived, my bride has accomplished many great things… she’s lived a very full life. But even more than that, she has loved those around her greatly and been loved greatly in return. I can honestly say that Joey’s isn’t just a life well-lived, it’s a life well-loved.”

Rory Feek wrote, “After four-and-a-half months in Indiana, we will soon be back home in Tennessee. Me, and our little one, with our older daughters. It’s hard for me to imagine being there without Joey, but at the same time… it is where she wants us to be. It’s where she will be… She’s gonna be in the mint growing beside our back deck, the sweet-corn frozen in our freezer and a million other places that her hand and heart has touched around our little farmhouse and community. Joey will still be with us. Everywhere.”

Joey is survived by her adoring husband, Rory; their three children, Heidi, Hopie and Indiana; her mother and father and three sisters.

Joey Feek has been laid to rest during a private funeral in the family cemetery on the Maury County, Tennessee homestead she shared with her husband, Rory, and two-year-old daughter, Indiana. The Feek family returned to the family farm on March 5th after Joey’s death.

A public memorial service is also scheduled to take place in Joey Martin Feek’s hometown of Alexandria, Indiana. The Feek’s close friends and Gospel music legends Bill and Gloria Gaither will host the service scheduled for Sunday, March 13 at 2:30 PM in the Alexandria-Monroe High School gym. Rory Feek, his three daughters, and members of Joey’s family will also attend the special service. The whole community has been a great source of support and kindness for the entire Martin and Feek clan during Joey’s brave cancer battle and hospice stay.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Rory and Indy at P.O. Box 5471 Vancouver, WA 98668.

Joey Feek‘s good heart, stellar voice, and inspiring spirit will truly be missed.  Prayers continue for Rory and the family.
