Gretchen Wilson is making a comeback in the country music world. She recently released yet another single, "Summertime Town." Listen here!

Gretchen Wilson released the second single Summertime Town from her latest album, Ready to Get Rowdy.   This is an upbeat tune that uses the harmonica and steel guitar and ties in romantic aspects to make it the perfect summertime song (just like the title says).  Wilson wrote the track alongside Bridgette Tatum and Rob Hatch.

“Sometimes a song idea is as simple as a great title,” Wilson said in a release. “When you picture a summertime town in your head, you begin to imagine the romance and the heartache that could be attached to a place like that.”

After a year-long break from the music industry, Wilson released Ready to Get Rowdy on June 16. She wrote or co-wrote all 12 of the album’s songs, and she even co-produced the project.

“I feel like everything got wore out, not just vocally, but I, just physically, got wore out, and I needed a little time off,” Wilson told The Boot about her time off. “How fortunate am I? Not too many people get to go, ‘I’m going to stay home with my kid for two years.’ Not a lot of people get to do that, so I feel very fortunate that I got to do that. But that time gave me the want-to to get creative, too… It gave me time to think.”

“Summertime Town” Lyrics

I know you’re gonna be rolling in
And I know you’re gonna roll out again
I’m just a wave you’ve been traveling
But the tides gotta change every now and then

I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Where the beaches close up when the sun goes down
If you ain’t into stayin’ honey I ain’t hangin’ round
No I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Don’t wanna be your summertime town

We never really did have a plan
And we couldn’t know how this trip would end
So picture me smiling if you can
Cause I’m leaving my footprints we left in the sand
And honey…

I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Where the beaches close up when the sun goes down
If you ain’t into stayin’ honey I ain’t hangin’ round
No I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Don’t wanna be your summertime town

I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Where the beaches close up when the sun goes down
If you ain’t into stayin’ honey I ain’t hangin’ round
No I don’t wanna be your summertime town
Don’t wanna be your summertime town

Summertime ooooh
