Country music star Chris Young has scored his ninth No. 1 with “Sober Saturday Night,” his collaboration with country icon Vince Gill. The tune takes the top spot on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck radio charts this week. The country ballad penned by Young with Brad and Brett Warren, is the third consecutive chart-topper from the Gold-certified album I’m Comin’ Over. “Sober Saturday Night” is the follow up to Young’s smash hit duet “Think Of You” with Cassadee Pope.

‪Thanks to my friends in country radio, everyone that requested this one, and of course @vincegillofficial! "Sober Saturday Night" is my 9th number one!!‬

Growing up in Tennessee, Chris formed an early appreciation for the history of country music and even witnessed Vince Gill perform for a sold-out crowd at Nashville’s former Starwood Amphitheater.

Recalling the recording session with his now friend and mentor, Chris said, “I got to sit in his studio and hang out with Vince all day. It’s just such a cool full-circle thing for me. He’s absolutely someone that I put on a pedestal as a vocalist, as a musician, and as a person.”

“I’m really grateful to be a part of Chris’s great career up to this point,” stated Vince. “He has an amazing future ahead of him. Thank you Chris for the opportunity to become a collaborator and a friend.”

“Sober Saturday Night” Lyrics

I feel terrible, sunlight’s hurting my eyes
So I pull the shades and I make my place as black as night
I feel miserable and I’m missing you and me
Another Sunday morning all alone underneath these sheets
No, I’m not hungover it’s true, but I’m still not over you
All messed up, all strung out, I was sitting at home breaking down
I’m not out there getting high underneath some neon lights
Ain’t no whiskey strong enough to make things right
I’m just getting over another sober Saturday night
Besides the pain, I don’t feel a thing
When my buddies call me up, I just let it ring
No, I’m not hungover it’s true, but I’m still not over you
All messed up, all strung out, I was sitting at home breaking down
I’m not out there getting high underneath some neon lights
Ain’t no whiskey strong enough to make things right
I’m just getting over another sober Saturday night
No, I’m not out there getting high underneath some neon lights
Ain’t no whiskey strong enough to make things right
I’m just getting over another sober Saturday night
